Surfacing from the congested airwaves of mindless sitcoms, unchallenging game shows and depicting the demise of the human race on the nightly news, Channel 69 transmits a frequency free from prejudices and quandary, allowing freedom for mind, body and spirit.

1991 - The Beginning
Kyle Schember and Christian Mauch team up to form the first iteration of Channel 69, producing techno/house tracks with the goal of getting played in local clubs.

1991 - "Y.D.N.A"
Channel 69's first release is a track called "Y.D.N.A." It is released on local Dallas Metropolis label on 12" vinyl format. It is distributed to local DJ's and gets some club play in local dance clubs. Jeff K. of 94.5 KDGE also spins this track on his show "EdgeClub".

1992 - John Joins
John Allen Moore, Kyle's high school friend and former band-mate in another band called West of Nowhere joins the band as the soon-to-be lead vocalist for Channel 69.

1992 - "10,9,8,7,69"

1992 - Signed to JPIL
New York label J.P.I.L / Pure Music records signs Channel 69 and releases "10,9,8,7,69" on 12" vinyl and compact disc with remixes featured by Mark G! of the band Darwin Chamber. Soon after this release, the band decides to start writing vocal tracks and heads down the path of becoming one of the leading Dallas synth-pop bands. View in Discography

1992 - First Band Photo
Lugging an old TV, some rabbit ears and a camera, the guys head out to an opulent neighborhood in Dallas looking for a place to take a picture for their first promotional shot. They found an empty house, setup quickly and got the picture at the front door.

1992 - First Gig
Well, our first gig was really a party at someone's house, but after working odd jobs, Kyle and John decided it was time to quit working and do the band full-time. They set out to get their first "official" gig and landed one at The Wave in Dallas. A live CD of the show was recorded. Yes, we have it. And no, you can't hear it anywhere.

1992 - First interview
By the end of 1992, Channel 69 had a handful of songs that were being played in the clubs. December 3, 1992 - the band was interviewed on 94.5 KDGE's EdgeClub with Jeff K where they first debuted some of their new vocal tracks that were not yet released. Hear the Interview

1993 - "I Never Felt"
The third, and non-vocal track released by Channel 69 featured a remix by Jeff K and was released on J.P.I.L./Pure Music Records out of New York. The track appears on a San Francisco compilation CD called "The Adventures of Flem Globber" later that year. View in Discography

1993 - "Eat Me"
Channel 69's second techno/house track released on Metropolis Records "Glow" series featured a remix by Jeff K.

1993 - "Serious Rhythm" EP
Channel 69's first release in the synth-pop genre consisted of their breakout song "Exposure" that ended up hitting #1 on 94.5 KDGE after being featured on the "Tales from the Edge" compilation CD of local Dallas artists. View in Discography

1993 - Tales from the edge
This was a limited edition CD from KDGE radio (Dallas, Texas). On the first disc were 19 of the best new Texas bands in 1993. The second disc was comprised of 13 local electronic artists where Channel 69's track "Exposure" was featured.

1993 - "Exposure is #1"
Significant airplay on Dallas radio 94.5 KDGE puts Channel 69 at the #1 most requested song above U2's "Numb".

1994 - Words Video
Stone Core Films in Dallas is commissioned by "The Playboy Channel" to film the music video for Channel 69's "Words (Go Away)" to be included in the channel's MTV like "Girls of Hooters" show. Directed by Norry Niven. You can view the video here.

1994 - ::Cat Compilation::
Channel 69 contributes "She Has Everything (Doghouse Mix)" to the Control-Alt-Delete compilation CD in 1994. Other artists included on the disc are Information Society, Anything Box, T-4-2, Machine in Motion and more.

1994 - "Edge Home Movie"
Channel 69's video for "Words (Go Away)" is included on the "Edge Home Movie" that was available in Blockbuster Video and included an interview with Jeff K. at Edgefest.

1994 - "Channel 69"
Originally titled "At Full Length", Channel 69's first self-titled album is released New York label J.P.I.L / Pure Music records containing a new version of the Single "Exposure". View in Discography

1994 - Steve Paul Joins
After recording the Serious Rhythm EP and first album at Dub One Studios owned by Steve Paul, Steve becomes and official member of Channel 69 as the guitarist.

1994 - #3 on KRBE
The first single of of Channel 69's self-titled album is "Promise Is Breaking". The song got significant airplay on 104.1 KRBE in Houston, TX and reached #3 spawning a number of block party shows that the radio station hosted. Channel 69 performed with Lisa Loeb, Cause & Effect, Anything Box and many other fantastic artists.

1995 - Visible Records
In January of 1995, Channel 69 is signed to San Francisco label Visible Records and releases the self-title album under a new name titled "1min 50secs of Guilt". The album is remastered, track listing changes slightly and guitar is added to many tracks. View in Discography

1995 - "Believe" Remixes
The first single released on the Visible Records label was "Believe". The single include many remixes from artists such as Will Loconto, Release, Seofon and Channel 69. The single included the song "Words (Go Away) Talk to Me Mix". View in Discography

1995 - The last show
In 1995, Channel 69 disbanded and played their last show on April 8, 1995 in Oklahoma City at the Bricktown Brewery two weeks before the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City was bombed.

2010 - "Listen To Me"
Previously released on the ::CatCompilation II:: 15 years prior in 1995, a re-release as a single of "Listen to Me" hits digital stores. View in Discography

2010 - "Where are you Now?"
The never released song "Where are you Now?" written in 1996 after the band break up is released as a single for digital download. Guitar and backing vocals on this track were by Michael Culpepper, one of John's good friends from their previous band West of Nowhere. View in Discography

2019 - Reunion
After 24 years of hiatus, the band gets back together to play #Numbers in Houston on May 4th and Trees in Dallas, TX on May 5th. Read the Dallas Observer article here about the show.

2019 - Re-Releases
A number of Channel 69 tracks were re-released in 2019 for digital download including "She Has Everything", "Eat Me", "We're Invincible" and "I Never Felt" on the Idiot Box Records label.

2019 - "Another Gotcha"
Channel 69's first track (after 24 years gone), "Another Gotcha" is released on June 28, 2019 on the Idiot Box Record label. The song hit #1 on KB Radio Canada for 3 weeks straight and remained in the top 20 for 6 weeks. Minimal copies on physical media were created and available in our Facebook Store. View in Discography

2019 - Video Release
The music video for "Another Gotcha" was released on the same day as the single. The video was self-produced and shot in Dallas by the band.

The second single for 2019 was "Not a Love Song (feat. Dania Morales)" and was released on November 30, 2019 The song hit #1 on KB Radio Canada for 2 weeks straight and remained in the top 20 for 5 weeks. 2020 - Remixed
Released on March 5, 2020 for digital download, the 2019 single "Not a Love Song (feat. Dania Morales)" is remixed by Channel 69, Will Loconto, Color Majesty, JG & The Robots and CraigC.

2020 - "Welcome to the End"
To be included a compilation CD of many artists "Living in Oblivion: A Tribute to Anything Box", Channel 69 released the single "Welcome to the End" on June 28, 2020 on the Idiot Box Records label amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. View in Discography

Channel 69 released the single Glitch Mix for 2019's "Another Gotcha" on July 30, 2020 on the Idiot Box Records label amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

2020 - Steve Moves On
While 2019 was a year for regrouping and playing some reunion shows, Steve Paul leaves the band in 2020 to pursue other projects. We thank Steve for his great guitar work and contribution to the regrouping. Best of luck!

2020 - "Numbers Covered"
Channel 69 covers Book of Love's classic hit "Boy" and features Dania Morales, of Anything Box, on vocals for the compilation album "Numbers Covered" benefiting the Houston Club #'s.

2020 - "Boy"
Released on November 6th, one week after the release on "Numbers Covered", Channel 69's brings back Dania Morales of Anything Box to sing lead. Notably, this is the first single that John has not sang vocals for.

2020 - "Boy (Alternate Version)"
Released on November 18th, 2020 as a separate alternate single and a distinctly different version of Book of Love's "Boy". This version stands out applying a modern melancholy twist.

2020 - "Boy (Official Video)"
Released on December 5, 2020 to coincide with the single release. The video is for the "Alternate Version" of the song.

2020 - "Oblivion" Compilation
Released on December 5, 2020 features Channel 69's version of the Anything Box song "Welcome to the End".

2021 - "Serious Rhythm"
Originally released in 1993 on the EP of the same name, "Serious Rhythm" is re-released (on Bandcamp only) remastered in all it's Speak n' Spell glory. Go and ask for it by name.

2021 - Numbers Covered Part II
Channel 69 teams up with Rob Rowe of Cause & Effect to produce "Goodbye Horses" and Dania Morales of Anything Box to produce Book of Love's classic hit "I Touch Roses". Both tracks appear on the compilation.

2021 - Goodbye Horses Single
Released on June 8, 2021 as a single, "Goodbye Horses" contains three versions of the Q Lazzarus classic including the same Radio edit that appears on the Numbers Covered Part II compilation a DJ Edit and a haunting Reprise.

2021 - Believe (Abductee Mix) Single
27 years after the release of "Believe", RDK Records releases the Abductee Mix as a single to all major digital streaming outlets.
